Bio
Lucy manages the operations related to investment offerings at Founders Pledge. Her interest in high-impact philanthropy was sparked by her experience working at California Policy Lab, where donors’ support enables researchers to generate evidence that transforms public policy, improving the lives of Californians. Prior to joining the public sector, Lucy worked as a consultant at Deloitte, where she specialized in portfolio allocation and project management.
Lucy is from China and has lived in Madison, Chicago, Philadelphia, and London, but she feels that most at home in California. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering at the Aero Theatre and taking art classes at Santa Monica College.
Q&A with Lucy
If you could choose anyone famous (real or fictional) to have dinner with who would they be and why?
I would have dinner with Patti Smith at the El Quijote restaurant and learn her ways of being just kids.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Sailor Moon. Facing the looming reality of not making the cut, I told myself I’d be willing to settle for Sailor Mercury.
If a movie was made of your life what genre would it be, who would play you?
A biopic about young Lucy arriving in Wisconsin from China and trying to make sense of this American life. I would love Alexa Chung to play me, but she would probably handle difficult situations with much more grace than young Lucy.
