Bio
Sarah joined the Philanthropic Service team at Founders Pledge in November 2022. After receiving a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, she worked for non-profits in Hong Kong and New Zealand before a slight pivot to professional baking. Her continued interest in finding effective ways to solve the world’s problems eventually led her back to the philanthropic world and to Founders Pledge.
Outside of work, Sarah continues to find joy in baking, as well as playing in the dirt, hiking, and immersing herself in different surroundings - whether through books or travel.
Q&A with Sarah
Q: If you could choose anyone famous (real or fictional) to have dinner with who would they be and why?
I’d love to have dinner with the late Anthony Bourdain. Since it’s dinner specifically, he’d probably have some great suggestions for where we could eat and some great stories to share about his travels and varied experiences of humankind.
Q: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I was quite certain I’d be a Broadway star but, unfortunately, none of the required acting, dancing, or singing chops ever manifested themselves. However, still happy to serenade anyone who makes the mistake of handing me a karaoke mic.
Q: If a movie was made of your life what genre would it be, who would play you?
A fantasy or sci-fi movie with as many practical effects and costumes as possible where I’m played by Florence Pugh. I’d also like to be an extra in the film.
